BA Med Spa Holds Official Ribbon Cutting & Open House

The Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce will have a new addition on Tuesday, July 26th, as BA Med Spa will hold its official Ribbon Cutting and Open House. The event will be from 11:30AM- 1:00PM and is open to the public. Owners Malissa Spacek and Dr. James Campbell will be available to answer questions about their highly successful weight loss program as well as med spa services, including: laser procedures, Botox, dermal fillers permanent cosmetics, chemical peels, and general health & beauty information. There will also be a drawing for the 40-Day Weight Loss Protocol weight loss package ($575 value) and Obagi Skin Care products, which is the #1 physician dispensed skin care line in the world. Mary Moore, MC for the Tulsa Shock and co-host on KMOD, will be speaking as well.

Dr. James Campbell has been in practice for over 30 years in the Broken Arrow community. “We pay individual attention to each patient with the goal obviously being for them to reach their goal weight but ultimately reducing or preventing diabetes, hypertension and a host of other illnesses we find are directly related to being overweight.”

Malissa has been a part of the Broken Arrow and Tulsa communities for decades. Her husband, Sam Spacek, who passed last year, was a fixture in the area for over 30 years as the owner and operator of Spacek Antiques. Malissa has over a decade in the medical aesthetics industry and is trained specifically in Micropigmentology. Her years of experience in the industry have led her to helping those struggling with weight loss. “We treat the whole individual, inside and out. Weight loss is essential to good health and medical aesthetics has come a long way in terms of helping people look their best with minimally invasive and affordable procedures.”

In addition to the Ribbon Cutting and Open House, BA Med Spa & Weight Loss Center welcomes Olga Strickland to our practice. Olga is an extensively experienced laser technician and Botox and dermal filler administrator who will be a great addition to our staff.

PLATEAU! 2wks. in a row! I had been stressing over this so I went in last week -I had done it again. Pj and I sat down and she explained that this happens to everyone. She said I have to kind of shock my body and mind to get going on my weight loss route again. But I knew inside that it had to have been something else. Work has been very stressful lately and as much as I wanted to lean this issue on something besides me, I just couldn’t. The word ”addiction” means being stuck on something or some kind of substance and not being able to shake it. My addiction was not a drug, nor was it an illegal substance, but to me and this diet it was an illegal food substitute. When I found myself craving something sweet I went for a bowl of corn flakes. I know it’s funny and sounds lame, but I was hooked and I was substituting cereal for meals. And when I told PJ, she claimed that this really does happen to people. And that is probably the main source for my plateau for the last week. Makes sense…

My goal, after realizing all of this, is to eat just my 1/2 cup with skim milk and 1/2 bannana for only breakfast this week. So this week I have seperated my cereal from the box to individual bags already measured out. One for each day. And when I have my craving for something sweet, I grab my 12 grapes or some watermelon. So I’m teaching myself to overcome my addiction. And hopefully next week with my workout and cardio, I’ll to be back on top of this weight loss and finish strong. I hope and pray that all of you are doing well with your weight loss goals keep your head up stay strong and remember the staff at Broken Arrow Med Spa and Weight Loss are trained to help us out and be there for us through the thick and the thin of our weight loss battle!

Last week I went on a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee. The interesting part was I had to fly. I hate to fly mainly because I can’t fit in the seats. The last time I was on a plane was November of last year. Keep in mind that I weighed close to 400lbs. and am 6’4″ No easy task to fit into an airplane chair. But you want to talk about a happy customer! For the first time ever, I, Brett Rector sat down in an airplane seat and was not touching the sides, not lifting up one of the arm rests and not needing the seat belt extender! I was so thrilled! Proud of myself actually for being able to accomplish this goal of 283lbs. And thankful for the Broken Arrow Med Spa and Weight Loss Center. I ended up making friends that flight and my next few telling them about this place and the help they have done for me and can also do for you!

Hi guys, it’s Brett Rector here. Most people in Tulsa used to know me as BIG BRETT. But thankfully, with the support and guidance from BA Med Spa & Weight Loss Center, I’m a new and very much improved man. I will openly admit I was unsure if this program was actually going to help me lose the weight that I, myself, could never seem to shake. But after week 1, I had lost 19lbs. My whole life I’ve been overweight and now that I’m 15 weeks into it and have lost over 88 pounds and still dropping! I’m completely shocked and happy with myself. I’ve never stuck to any diet or workout plan. But this was easy and I saw results almost instantly! Now I can’t lie, the first two weeks were tough and I wanted to cheat but I gave myself a goal. That goal was one month, I told myself I’d give it a month and if it’s too hard-I’ll just quit. But with the compliments I started getting everyday as the weeks went on, I just couldn’t stop because it actually made me work harder and harder!

Now here’s a neat fact also, going into a doctor’s office is not anyone’s favorite thing to do. But I actually look forward to going in every week. The staff there treat you like family. They are always in great moods and act happy to see you when you come in! The whole staff is very knowledgeable and have a lot of great ideas each visit. So I hope that if you keep coming and reading these testimonials and haven’t come in yet because you fear it’s not real or that there going to poke you and make fun. I promise you they wont and that you will be make a life changing visit! So go try it out and I hope too see you there soon!

Sincerely,

“Medium” Brett Rector

2 tablespoons apricot preserves
2 teaspoons chopped fresh tarragon , or 1/2 teaspoon dried

PREPARATION
Place chicken breasts between 2 pieces of plastic wrap. Pound until flattened to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Place flour in a shallow dish. Dredge the chicken in the flour, shaking off excess. (Discard any leftover flour.)

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and no longer pink in the center, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate, cover and keep warm. (If necessary, cook the chicken in two batches with an additional 1 tablespoon oil.)

Off the heat, add wine and shallot to the pan. Return to medium heat and cook, scraping up any browned bits, until slightly reduced, about 3 minutes. Add apricots and cook until the fruit begins to break down, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in preserves, tarragon and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt. Return the chicken to the pan and cook until heated through, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve the chicken with the sauce.
